Transaction Time at New Parking Pay Stations Dramatically Improved
Park Cedar Rapids would like parking patrons to know about an adjustment that has been made to the credit and debit card transaction time of the new “LUKE” parking pay stations. Since activation of the first pay stations in mid-October, Park Cedar Rapids staff have been actively monitoring the new technology to determine what improvements could be made to the customer experience. With this latest adjustment, customers will notice significantly reduced credit and debit card processing times.
“One of the main reasons we implemented a phased rollout of the LUKE pay stations was so staff could address issues quickly and effectively” said Park Cedar Rapids’ General Manager, Jon Rouse. “I think that our customers will notice a dramatic reduction in the amount of time they actually spend interacting with the LUKE meters because of this change.”
The final two phases of the LUKE pay station activation, Phases 4 and 5, are currently underway and will be complete by Friday, December 23. Park Cedar Rapids Ambassadors will be on the street to assist customers with the LUKE pay stations. Enforcement will also be lenient in the newly activated areas to allow parking patrons to get used to using the new technology.
Businesses, parking patrons and visitors are encouraged to visit the Park Cedar Rapids website for more information on how to use the new parking pay stations. A “Meet LUKE” Video Tutorial, located on the front page of the site, will walk users through each step of using the new pay stations. Customers are encouraged to notify the Park Cedar Rapids office at 319-365-7275 with comments, concerns or questions about the new pay stations.
Customers are reminded that credit and debit cards only be used for transactions over $1.00.
